Online Resources

The Sudbury Public Schools (SPS) secures Student Data Privacy Agreements (DPAs) with all vendors whose online resource either contains student data or that students sign into.  We also secure these contracts with many vendors that are not relevant to student data privacy as a matter of professional diligence.  For example, Finalsite provides SPS with the platform for its district website; this resources contains no student data and students do not sign into it, but we still have a DPA with them so as to provide the most contractual protection possible.

 

     Notes:

• The audience for each resource (staff, students, or family) has been included as part of the Purpose in the Resource Name column. 
• The SPS signature page for DPAs is contained in the linked “Exhibit E”  link beneath the Agreement links.
• Most DPAs are negotiated as three year contracts.  As they approach expiration, the Student Data Privacy Consortium negotiates new contracts so that school districts can renew their agreements with vendors without a gap in coverage.
• The grade levels and curriculum areas are listed for staff and family communication purposes and do not impact the coverage of the DPAs.
• Subscriptions used in special education (SPED) are purchased by the student services department and used only by special educators and students receiving IEP services.
