Note: We have districts that have Grammarly use written in students' IEPs. In such cases, the district secures written parent consent for Grammarly use as part of the IEP signing process.
In January 2022, Grammarly signed our Data Privacy Agreement (DPA) for Massachusetts, Maine, Rhode Island, and Vermont without any requested modifications. Grammarly’s DPA coverage included all of its products, including the free ones. Fast forward to today: Grammarly now has a new team of attorneys who are carefully reviewing DPAs. They have informed us that only their paid Grammarly for Education product complies with the terms of the DPA. Grammarly's free products do not comply. If your district currently uses any version of Grammarly other than its Education product, we strongly recommend discontinuing its use immediately. |
