We share data with third parties either via Clever, custom SFTP, or API. All three methods send the data over an encrypted and secure connection. 

Services That We Share Data With

Clever

As of 6/20/2025 we have 47 services connected via Clever. We only upload the core required fields listed below to Clever, so that we don't over share student data. Most applications require these core fields in able to work. Each application has it's own configuration of which fields we share, but we only house the following fields in Clever, so that it's not possible to share anything else other than these items via Clever. While the agreement may say that the application uses other fields of data, the district does not provide that data, however they have the ability to utilize those data fields if we were to provide it, or they may ask the students to enter that data manually once their account is created.

- School Name
- Student ID (A unique number used at our district to identify a student)
- Student Number (Another unique number used at our district to identify a student)
- Student State ID (A unique number assigned by the state of Ohio to identify a student. This is not an SSN, and is not as sensitive as an SSN)
- First Name
- Middle Name
- Last Name
- Grade Level
- Gender
- Date of Birth
- Student Schedule
- School Issued Email Address

Custom SFTP or API

Certain services require more information than we house in Clever, so we do custom data shares for each service listed below sending only the necessary data that service requires via automated and encrypted SFTP or via a custom API. For example, for our School Messenger notification system, we need to provide parent phone numbers, so they can alert parents when school is delayed. These services are listed below, along with their SDPA status.

Services That We Don't Share Data With

Note that we have many more agreements than the 47 services that we share data with via Clever. We have agreements on for any service that students login to, or that stores student records. In these cases, we don't send the companies data, but they generate data once a student makes an account. For example, Typing Pal would allow a student to create an account, and they would store their typing speed and progress as data that is protected by the SDPA.
