Purpose: Desmos provides digital math tools -- including, but not limited to, a graphing calculator, scientific calculator, four function calculator, geometry tool, and matrix calculator -- through its website and mobile applications.
In addition, Desmos has classroom activities that teachers can use to lead a class through mathematical topics in a way that is social and creative. Teachers can use activities created by Desmos, can build their own, and can modify activities created by Desmos or other teachers.
Desmos licenses its core technology to textbook publishers, assessment companies, and other organizations that can benefit from our products. Desmos never licenses any data on users to these customers. Desmos also does not work with any 3rd party ad networks, targeted or otherwise, on any of its sites, apps, or services.
Please note that because many features of Desmos are available for free to any user, Desmos can only delete or return data on behalf of an LEA if Desmos knows that the user is under the jurisdiction of the LEA. Only accounts associated with a student’s or teacher’s official LEA-issued email address are covered by this agreement.
Additionally please note that because many instances of Student Data require Desmos’s technology to be rendered and interpreted, in many cases it will not be possible for Desmos to return the data at the request of the LEA. In such cases, we will notify the LEA that the data cannot be returned and instead delete the data if the LEA requests such deletion in response to our notification.

The Services include a wide range of content and learning activities, including instructional content and exercises aligned to core curriculum, test practice courses (for example, SAT practice) and other learning activities and education programs. Standard features allow teachers and coaches to assign lessons to learners and monitor learning progress. In-app or emailed communications notify users about assignments, suggest additional learning activities, provide activity reports or offer additional programs (Learnstorm, test prep) through the Website. We also engage in research and analysis to inform the use of the Service and to
further improve and develop the Services.
This DPA applies only to use of the Services through School Accounts created by or at the direction of the LEA. School Accounts are defined in, and must be established in accordance with, the Terms of Service.
In addition to the free Website and Services for School Accounts covered by this DPA, Khan Academy offers supplemental services to school districts and educational agencies to facilitate implementation by the district or agency, including Khan Academy Districts and MAP
Accelerator (offered by NWEA as a complement to the MAP Growth assessment). These supplemental services are provided under separate terms of service and data protection terms that address the specific features and use of data for those services. This DPA does not apply
to Khan Academy Districts and MAP Accelerator.
Students may have personal accounts in addition to School Accounts created by or at the direction of the school, and may associate their School Account with their personal account.
Additionally, they may choose to create personal login information to their School Account to provide access to the account for activity outside of school ("Personal Login"). Parents may elect to create a personal account on the Website associated with their child's account and
monitor their child’s learning activity. This DPA does not apply to personal accounts (or information of a student, parent or user provides to Provider through such personal accounts) or use of a Personal Login.

• To deliver Picture Day notices on behalf of the school and provide parents of students photographed opportunities to purchase student and class pictures and yearbooks; and
• As otherwise specified by the DPA. For the avoidance of doubt, this DPA does not apply to (a) information collected from customers who opt to purchase products directly from Lifetouch and/or establish a Lifetouch or Shutterfly family account; or (b) Lifetouch photographs, except as incorporated into the School Deliverables.
